Price transparency and receipt processing
A .NET application turns receipt evidence into validated records and supports price comparison workflows.
Problem
Receipts and retailer prices use different formats. Reading a number from an image is not enough to make it trustworthy comparison data.
Engineering challenge
Classify receipt formats, reconcile line items to totals, retain source evidence privately, and keep uncertain product matches out of comparisons.
What was built
Built ASP.NET Core receipt and comparison flows, OCR format parsers with reconciliation checks, PostgreSQL persistence, and private Cloud Storage evidence handling.
Observable outcome
The code supports receipt ingestion, validation, review of uncertain matches, and comparison views. Unsupported formats remain flagged for review.
